If you're a foreign-trained lawyer looking to broaden your understanding of the US legal system, Pitt Law's LLM program is an excellent option. Our program offers a dynamic community of scholars and students, providing you with a supportive and challenging academic atmosphere to thrive in. We welcome applications from students who have a proven track record of success and can excel in a competitive academic environment.
Apply directly though our website through either the Law School Admissions Council (LSAC) website or through GradCAS. Your application will require:
- A completed and signed application form
- University and other post-secondary transcripts with grades (including English translation)
- Professional and Educational Goals Statement (your “personal statement”)
- Your CV or resume
- Official TOEFL, IELTS or Duolingo results
- Three letters of recommendation
- Certification of financial capacity
- The required application fee
We request that all students seeking admission to the LLM program submit their application by April 1 of any given year in order to be properly considered for a fall admission and financial aid. Students not requesting financial aid may submit their application up to June 1 and still be considered for fall admission.
